Gary was born and raised in Asheville, NC and is a graduate of TC Roberson High School. He worked for Piedmont Airlines at the Asheville Airport as a customer service agent for nine months before attending Western Carolina University and earned a BS in Industrial Technology in 1980.  Gary went on to work as an industrial engineer for Westinghouse and Rockwell International for ten years before joining the LN Davis Insurance Agency in 1990.  Gary's insurance education has mostly been through on the job, real-world training. He's also had many educational opportunities over the years with the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina, as his wife, Kathy, was on the IIANC Board for 17 years. Gary was chairman of the Western Agents Conference for many years, held at the Grove Park Inn - Asheville. The conference became the 2nd most attended annual event held by IIANC during that time.

Gary is a people person and enjoys many close relationships with friends and customers in the local community. He has served on many non-profit boards over the 33 years in his capacity as a trusted insurance advisor and successful business man. Gary's expertise is mostly in commercial insurance, but he has knowledge in all aspects of property/casualty and personal insurance.  He is also a licensed life insurance agent.   

Gary enjoys spending time with his 3 grandchildren and is proud to work with his wife, as well as his daughter and son-in-law, whom are now both working as 4th generation family members in the agency. Obviously with that many family members working closely every day he needs an outside interest, and that is golf, fishing and camping.
